Precautions for the use of paracord

2021-10-18

1. Check the paracord before use
The rope with scars or kinks may break during use, so it must be checked before use, and if there is kinks, it must be restored.

2. Doesn't stain the paracord
Dirt is the main reason for the deterioration of the rope, and it also deteriorates its strength. In the wild, do not place the rope directly on the ground, and be careful not to allow oil stains to adhere to the rope. In addition, be sure to dispose of the dirt on the rope after use.

3. Don't step on the paracord
The rope is often scarred or deteriorated due to being stepped on. In addition, if a small stone or the like runs into the rope, there may be a risk of breaking when carrying a weight. Especially in the mountains in winter, if the cleats on the shoes are stepped on, they can no longer be used. When rock climbing, you often step on the climbing rope unknowingly, so please pay more attention to this.

4. Keep the paracord away from sharp objects
When the rope touches sharp objects such as rock edges and corners and bears a heavier burden, the risk of rope breakage is increased. At present, safety guidelines have been formulated for climbing ropes. In this situation, the use of climbing ropes or ropes is absolutely prohibited. It is really indispensable and needs to be protected with towels, etc., to avoid direct contact with sharp objects.

5. Don't suddenly add to the paracord
Doing so will cause scars to the rope. Even if it is sometimes not visible on the surface, the inside may have been broken. Therefore, be careful not to let the rope bear too much load.

6. Don't borrow the paracord
There is nothing more dangerous than a rope that has not been used under what circumstances. Because if you use a rope that seems to have withstood a sudden weight without knowing it, then the rope may be cracked. Therefore, absolutely avoid borrowing the used rope from others, or lending your own rope to others.

7. Do not use such paracord

Ropes can be said to be consumables, not that they can be used for life after buying one. If a scarred rope is used, there will be an accident one day. It must be checked frequently, and a new rope should be replaced immediately after the scar is found. In addition to the rope that has scratches, cuts or abrasions should be replaced immediately, the rope that has been overused for more than two years must also be replaced. Even if there are no obvious scars, it is quite old. In addition, ropes that have been subjected to sudden weight, such as climbing ropes that have been used to support people who fell while climbing, must never be used again.
